The science behind Eraclea is the HylaSponge®System, a breakthrough in skin care technology developed by the Matrix Biology Institute, is based upon decades of research on the structure, function and uses of various forms of hyaluronic acid, one of the molecular building blocks of our body’s intercellular matrix. Using proprietary polymerization methods, a network of large hyaluronic acid molecular chain assemblies is formed. They have virtually infinite molecular weight and can absorb and release relatively large volumes of water that may contain water-soluble molecules, much like a sponge: thus the name HylaSponge®.

Founder Jane Iredale has always thought of makeup as an essential part of a woman's sense of well-being and she wanted to make that easy to achieve.  That's why her mineral powders are a foundation, powder, concealer and sunscreen all in one, and why every product in the line is multi-functional.  Her goal is to make products that look good, feel good and are good for the skin.  Products must be easy to apply, as well, so that a woman can be her best in the shortest amount of time. This has had an international resonance.  The jane iredale brand is carried throughout the United States and world-wide in more than forty countries.

Caring and Giving

When Jane launched the makeup brand bearing her name in 1994, she did it because she wanted to help women look and feel their best and contribute to their sense of well-being. Believing that healthy skin is the ultimate foundation, she designed clean, simple formulas that were good for the skin.

The brand philosophy includes no animal testing and a commitment to give back. From mindful business practices to supporting organizations that enrich lives and the environment, Jane and her company are making a beautiful difference not just with contributions, but with time and effort as well.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer

One of our longest-running partnerships is with Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), a national nonprofit organization with the mission to connect people impacted by a breast cancer diagnosis with educational resources and a supportive community. For our part, Jane chooses one special product every year during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October and donates 100% of the profits from sales to LBBC. Since 2007, our support has helped the organization empower women to live fuller lives through much needed programs and services.
